What It Means to Have A List Targeted Email Marketing for Anyone

If you have a website and a desire to make money, you should be engaging in targeted email marketing — it’s that simple. Every single major corporation in the country (and most of the medium-sized ones) engage in targeted email marketing on one level or another. You can tell using one simple trick: if they ask for your email address — at all — they’re using targeted email marketing.

So what is targeted email marketing? Simple – it’s collecting email addresses of people that you know are interested in what you’re selling, and then emailing them stuff that makes them more inclined to buy your stuff. If you’re a giant corporation like Wal*Mart, you send them your weekly coupons or something. If you’re a small business, you can send out coupons, but you’re likely to be even more successful by sending out emails about your latest new product or service.

The trick is to build the list. It’s a numbers game — if 0.5% of people respond to your email, and you have 200 people on your list, that’s one reply. If you have 20,000 people on your list, that’s one hundred replies. Having a large list of people that you can send emails out to efficiently means that you make more money off of each email you send out.

There are two ways to obtain a list: you can purchase one or you can build one. For many major companies that have a broad spectrum of products (like Wal*Mart), it’s easier to purchase a list of a hundred million email addresses, because almost everyone can find something in their store that they want to buy. For business with a very narrow product stream — say, Lea & Perrins — it’s smarter to build a list, because of a hundred million email addresses on Wal*Mart’s list, maybe only one million actually use Worcestershire sauce on a regular basis, so they’re not getting their money’s worth.

For the vast majority of small businesses, then, building your own list is the right path to take. Find something that you can offer your clients. Build a webpage where you can give it to them for free in exchange for their email address. Get an SEO company to do some small business SEO for that page. If you use an opt-in system, you have their permission to market to them until they opt out — which for most people is never. Time to bring the profits!

    The target users should be the unsigned musicians,so I am wondering how could I get them comming? I have tried using music forum and myspace but it didnt work that well, so I am thinking if I need start to promote by sending emails.     I am trying to start a small business where I sell items I make to retail stores. I am wondering what the laws are in asking stores if I can send them a catalog of my items or calling them, emailing, waking in, etc. Is there anything I should know about? I notice that some stores have signs out in front of their business that say No Soliciting, which really would be what I would be doing so does that mean I mark them off my list? I do not want to offend anyone, I am just trying to reach buyers.

    Recently I am engaged in email marketing. I find my target email addresses on web pages. Most of my emails can’t be delivered to the desired address and bounce back to me. My superior thinks these emails can’t be delivered to the target address because most of these email addresses are fake. I disagree with him. Do you think a company would publish a fake email address on its corporate website?
    As I see it, there are many reasons behind this phenomena. One main reason is that these email boxes are full and can’t accept a new email. What do you think of it?

    The numbers the various companies give seam very far fetched, as if a genie granted someone a single wish. I mean $1,000 a day? Seriously?

    And each version of the marketing comes with quotes from “users” who claim to have made money? Couldn’t anyone just lie and say they earned money? I mean, how do I know the “real” folks saying the program made them money weren’t paid to promote the very company claiming to make you money.

    So far, the few options i have explored have all turned out to be shams or unethical, or had subscription costs. For example, there was one regarding buying ticket master tickets and reselling them. That is scalping, an unethical business where there are dime a dozen scalpers already online.

    Not to mention all of the emails I now receive trying to promote a product/program to make money online. I’m being bombarded with lies that I need to “act now” or i’ll miss out. Then there are the “webinars” that are there to make the author, strictly, of the webinar money. Do they actual give me anything useful? Why are there webinars in the first place?

    All of these unanswered questions have left a bad taste in my mouth. I just want the truth! Can there be legit money made online w/o scamming, lying, selling cheap merchandise, or roping in unsuspected victim into throwing away money in something that isn’t even a physical object?

    Please be honest with me here. I’m attempting to create income so me and my girl can make a living, enough to get by w/o too much discomfort, while we are both in school. I do not need to be patronized with false information, just so a yahoo answers user can bump/promote a company.

    Hi guys, as im sure most of you are aware, money is tight these days, very tight…. bordering on losing the house kind of tight….
    Ive seen all these adds for ” I earn over £5000 a month thanks to…. ” and i know thats all bullshit…
    but never the less i did some research and have found that you can accually make money quite sucessfully using affiliate marketing.
    Im fairly new to all of this, however not to computers.. im studding a degree in computing and engerneering and have a very knowledgable basis on how the computer, internet, building websites, programming…. etc works.

    could someone please tell me how the whole system works and how to go about starting to make money?
    I dont want to be come a ‘super’ affiliate and be on redicelous amounts of money… just enough to ease the belt up a little bit if you know what i mean…

    If one were to send an e-mail advertising a business to a small group of targeted addresses (20 or less) and include instructions to the recipient on how to be removed from the mailing list if they so desire, would it be considered spam?
